Standard suits are neither waterproof nor rainproof and are not sufficient to effectively protect the driver in heavy rain.

For recreational driving or practice sessions, a non-homologated suit is perfectly suitable. However, to participate in official competitions, you’re generally required to wear a homologated suit that complies with your championship’s regulations. Drivers who race year-round, especially during training sessions in the rain, can also supplement their gear with a rain suit to stay dry and maintain greater driving comfort.

What is the difference between an approved racing suit and a recreational suit?
